Car: Approaching Hazel Grove on the A6, take the Chester Rd turning (beside American Golf). Keep left as the road splits and follow until you reach the crossroads with Lyndhurst Avenue (just after the pedestrian crossing). Turn right onto Lyndhurst Avenue and follow the road until you reach Moorfield Primary School on your left. When you enter the car park follow it around to the rear of the building and enter through the green gate in the corner. Follow the path around and you’ll find us through the red double doors at the rear of the building.
Train: The nearest train station is Hazel Grove, timetables can be found online. We are approximately 15 minutes walk from the station, or you can connect with the 374 bus which passes directly outside the school.
Bus: The 374 service passes directly outside Moorfield Primary School, this runs from Stockport Bust Station to Hazel Grove Train Station. The 192 services the A6, if you get off at Hazel Grove McDonalds you can walk the same route as laid out in the vehicle instructions.

What type of music do Affinity sing? – Affinity sing an ecclectic mix of styles from show tunes to pop songs. We are a close harmony group with the majority of our repertoire being in four parts. We largely sing a-cappella however we do have some accompanied pieces in our repertoire too.
Do I need to have singing experience? – No, we welcome new members from novices right through to experienced singers. Our vastly qualified music team will teach you all you need to know and support you through your journey with Affinity.
Will I need to audition? – Yes though we make every effort to ensure this is not a daunting experience for our new members – don’t worry there’s no big solo audition in front of the whole chorus!. All will be explained by your Music Team mentors.
What kind of commitment is required? – Because we are a competing Chorus we take what we do seriously whilst having fun along the way. In order for us to constantly move forward and develop as a chorus we do ask that our members attend as often as possible, whilst also putting in rehearsal time at home practicing with teach tracks.
Will I need to pay a subscription? – All members pay a monthly subscription this enables us to cover rehearsal venue fees, music fees (which are a lot more expensive than you’d think!) along with other running costs. Subs fees will be explained in your new members pack.
Will I need to provide my own stage costume? All members pay a non refundable hire fee for Stage costumes which are to be returned to the Chorus should you ever leave (which you won’t as you’ll love it so much you’ll want to stay for good!) The hire fee will be laid out in your new members pack.
Affinity are available to sing pretty much anywhere…even on the back of a truck (yes really!)
Although we have a large Chorus of 46 ladies, we can adapt ourselves to suit every occasion and venue, having smaller ensembles or even our quartets represent us for smaller functions in more intimate settings.
Our varied repertoire can be tailored to the occasion and venue too so if you have any specific requirements please do get in touch and we’ll endeavour to bring the Affinity sparkle to your event.
